QP Gunports

You may know them as shooting ports, firing ports or gun ports, at Biagi Saga we call it the QP Gunport or QP^TM Gunport.

It provides a circular opening in a vehicle window or hull (or building window or wall) through which a gun can be aimed and fired from a protected position for self-defence purposes. A pivoting closure blocks and seals the port when not in use.

Biagi Saga Technologies are happy to supply QP^TM Gunports as standalone gunports for you to incorporate into your own armouring, or as complete window units. In the latter case, the gunports are pre-installed in armoured glass procured by Biagi Saga which is in turn mounted in frames designed and manufactured by Biagi Saga, ready for you to integrate into your application. The armoured glass, frames and gunports are engineered to achieve the desired ballistic rating in an optimal way.

The design complements the surrounding armour so that the full ballistic rating is maintained throughout the structure. Key Benefits:

The attack face of the QP^TM Gunport comprises high grade armour plate steel chosen to give optimum ballistic performance for the rating and application.

QP Gunport Range

The product range is broad due to the wide variety of application parameters:

• Thickness: QP^TM Gunports are typically manufactured for window or hull thicknesses ranging from 16 to over 100 mm.
• Hole Size: The size of the round hole in the window, hull or wall commonly extends from 115 to 160 mm in diameter.
• Aperture size: The size of the aperture to accommodate the muzzle of a rifle or for viewing typically extends from 68 to 130 mm in diameter.
• Ballistic Rating: The ballistic protection level is specified according to needs – all the way from B4 to STANAG Level 3.
• Finish: Standard finishes are eCoat epoxy or Kal-Gard® Gun-Kote, both offering a certified 1000 hour salt water resistance rating. Both in black. For a stand-alone, as-supplied finish Kal-Gard® Gun-Kote is highly recommended due to its hard wearing, abrasion resistant and self-lubricating properties.
